How it works

The power of a PV cell is measured in kilowatts peak (kWp). That’s the rate at which it generates energy in full direct sunlight during the summer. A typical 4kWp domestic system has the potential to generate 3,480 units of electricity per year while a 12kWp commercial setup could generate 10,440 units. This can convert to 100% savings on your electricity bills if you are able to use this electricity when it is generated.

For every megawatt hour of electricity your system generates, you will receive Renewables Obligation Certificate (ROC) payments. You can also benefit from selling any electricity you do not use to an electricity supplier. Whether you are a domestic or commercial customer, the output of your system is easy to monitor thanks to KES Group’s intuitive user interface, which enables you to make the best use of the electricity generated.

Is my location suitable?

Solar PV systems are often installed on a roof, with a southerly aspect being the most desirable, but a roof or wall angled within 90 degrees of south can be suitable provided it is not overshadowed by other buildings or trees.

It is also possible to install ground-mounted solar PV systems. At KES Group, our experienced team is on hand to offer advice and conduct a complete, free of charge assessment of your location, demonstrating the savings you could achieve with solar PV.

Can I get a grant?

A number of financial incentives and schemes are available for solar PV installations.  Contact KES Group today for advice and information on any of the following:
